Susan Rabin Buchanan writes and performs under her maiden name, Rabin. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northwestern University. Later, she became an entertainment lawyer practicing in San Francisco and Los Angeles. 

Susan performed a 2-year run in Foodies - The Musical (Shelton Theatre), portrayed Mama Rose in GYPSY(Alameda Civic Light Opera), and Belle in Little Me (Masquers Playhouse). She has recorded two albums (Chicago Woman, and Stairway to Paradise) and recorded and toured internationally and appeared on the Conan O’Brian Show with “Dan Hicks and The Hot Licks.”  

Also a playwright, productions of her plays include Aunt Lakie’s Not Coming to Dinner, Nosejob (The Phoenix Theatre),The Ring of Truth (Short-Lived Festival), Phillie Ain’t No Fool (Oxnard Playhouse), and JIVE (Second Stage, Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts). Two musicals are in development for production in 2021 including Maks & the Flying Smirnovs and JIVE, the Musical. Susan is the recipient of a playwriting grant from the Marin Arts Council.
